Letter of Invitation

Dear AOCC IBD Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 10th Annual Meeting of the Asian Organization for Crohn’s and Colitis (AOCC2022) which will take place in a fully virtual format on 16-18 June, 2022. We have been continually re-assessing the status of the COVID-19 pandemic, and decided to transform the AOCC2022 into a fully virtual meeting to ensure the safety of all attendees. We believe that this conference format is the safest approach for the well-being of our colleagues and speakers.

In line with the theme of AOCC2022, "Flash of Inspiration, and New Blow to IBD from Asia", the scientific programme committee, led by Dr. Tadakazu Hisamatsu, has arranged an outstanding programme that will provide you with the latest insights into the clinical practice to basic science of IBD.

The treatment advancements for Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been achieved by the conventional and molecularly targeted drugs, while the essential pathogenesis remains unclear. It is important that more gastroenterologists develop a better understanding of the pathogenesis of IBD in order to use the complex IBD drugs appropriately and to maximize their efficacy. It is also well known that disease susceptibility genes for IBD differ significantly between Asia and western countries. We have organized this program so that we can understand the uniqueness and universality of IBD in Asia, and discuss it enthusiastically to obtain the essence of the treatment which is useful for daily clinical practice of IBD, which will be an invaluable experience for both general physicians and IBD experts.

We look forward to welcoming you to AOCC2022 and celebrating AOCC’s 10th anniversary together.

Yours sincerely,

Takanori Kanai
